Guests Of Honor

Daniel Germain President & Founder : Breakfast Club for Children Qc

For nearly 23 years, Daniel has been taking the lead in setting up programs and projects that foster optimal child development. As President and Founder, Daniel works relentlessly to ensure that all children have an equal chance to enjoy a nutritious breakfast on a daily basis.

His personal story is inspirational: After experiencing a rather challenging childhood in several foster homes in Montreal, Daniel found his calling while on humanitarian missions in Haiti and elsewhere in the 80's and 90's. When he returned home to Canada, his unquenchable thirst for
social justice inspired him to create the Club des petits dejeuners du Québec in 1994. Daniel's vision of a promising and bright future for our children meshed so well with existing needs that, in 2005, the Club des petits déjeuners du Québec extended its activities across the country, becoming the Breakfast Club of Canada.

A true leader in social entrepreneurship, Daniel has received numerous awards for his entire body of work. These awards include the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee Medal as well as the Quebec YMCA Peace Medal for his commitment to youth, and being appointed Member of the Order of Canada and Chevalier de l'Ordre national du Québec.
